ABOUT US

Join us for an adventure in the city of Kuching, Sarawak!

You know it’s more than just a business if it started out as a hobby. Ivy first started kayaking in the early 2000s and she fell in love with it ever since. She would explore different rivers on weekends with her friends, carrying kayaks on the roofs of their cars.

Ivy and her husband, Jackson, started Rainforest Kayaking to allow both locals and travellers enjoy nature’s luxury in Kuching. Kuching is truly a hidden gem where you can find places like the Sungai Sarawak Kiri River that offers breathtaking views of limestone formations and towering riverine trees.

On certain seasons, you may notice locals working at their rice paddies, harvesting cocoa, or processing rubber latex. During Christmas or Gawai, you would also be able to learn about herbs, plants, and fruits while enjoying local delicacies and toasting to shots of tuak (local rice wine).

Today, Rainforest Kayaking is branded as The Rucksack Rainforest Kayaking and is now headed by Jacquelyn and Samantha — two nature-loving adventurers who have taken over the mission from Ivy and Jackson to spread the love for kayaking and greenery!

Love what you see? Drop us a message for your next trip, and we will let you #lovethefeeling of Sarawak’s most authentic experience when you paddle with us!
